Show that the total added value generated by the sale of the finished, or part-finished product, from the poor nation, into a richer nation is being shared with a local partner, in such a way that the local partner can invest in the transfer of market knowledge and technology and the development of new products.

3. Pay local taxes in a due and timely manner, so that education and health needs can be funded by local government.

4. Have schemes for staff training and development which include familiarisation with the requirements of overseas customers.

5. Must show that products include information on positive aspects of the culture and traditions of the poor nation.

6. Seek to avoid:
• Exploiting people
• Harming the environment

7. Agree to describe, on all documents carrying the Equitrade Logo, a process by which complaints can be made to Equitrade.
